Historical National Treasury nominal debt forecast errors

EconData makes it easy to evaluate historic SARB and National Treasury forecast errors and data revisions. Today’s post compares National Treasury’s forecasts from each Budget Review to the 2024 Budget Review’s estimates of debt. The chart shows that debt projections under-estimated the debt profile for all Budget Reviews except the 2021 Review.
