Productivity South Africa estimates show that the Finance, Insurance, Real Estate and Business Services industry had the fastest labour productivity growth, while several industries have shown meaningful declines in labour productivity since 2000. Compensation per employee grew fastest in general government services and slowest in Transport & Communication according to their estimates. Note that there are large differences between these labour productivity estimates and those from other sources (see here) and these average wage estimates and those from other data sources,in part reflecting definitional and coverage differences (see here and here).
