Fossil Fuels Investment vs Climate Goals

The IMF showed in their recent Global Financial Stability Report that there is a negative relationship between expected oil and gas capital expenditure and country measures of current climate policies and emission-reduction targets. This means that countries with stronger climate commitments expect lower investments in oil and gas capacity.
